India has sharply criticized Pakistan’s reported airstrikes on Afghan territory, which allegedly led to civilian casualties, including women and children, during the holy month of Ramadan.
Responding to media queries, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal described the incident as an attempt by Pakistan to shift attention away from its internal challenges. He stated that targeting across borders and causing harm to civilians cannot be justified under any circumstances.
India reiterated its firm backing for Afghanistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence. The government emphasized that regional peace and stability depend on respecting established international boundaries and avoiding actions that escalate tensions.
New Delhi also underlined the importance of safeguarding civilian lives and maintaining restraint, particularly during sensitive periods such as religious observances. India reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Afghan people and promoting stability in the region through dialogue and constructive engagement.
