New Delhi: The second day of the AI Impact Summit witnessed wide-ranging discussions on critical themes including AI for Social Good, Global South collaboration, AI governance and regulatory frameworks, as well as data-driven healthcare innovation and economic productivity through AI deployment in industry.
A major highlight of the day was the launch of the Strategy for AI in Healthcare for India (SAHI) and the Benchmark Open Data Platform in Health AI (BODH) by Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Jagat Prakash Nadda.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Nadda said India is taking a significant leap in health technology by integrating artificial intelligence into healthcare systems. He described SAHI as a comprehensive national roadmap designed to promote ethical, responsible, and people-centric adoption of AI in healthcare. He further noted that BODH aims to address a crucial gap by enabling structured testing and validation of AI-based healthcare solutions before their deployment in real-world settings.
During a session titled “Scaling Impact from India’s Sovereign AI,” Abhishek Singh, CEO of the India AI Mission, emphasized India’s rapid advancements in AI computing infrastructure. He highlighted the country’s growing use of green energy to power AI systems, its increasing global appeal as a technology hub, and its ability to offer competitive data centre capacity to international partners.
The AI Impact Summit marks a historic milestone as the first-ever global AI summit hosted in the Global South. The event has drawn participation from world leaders representing twenty nations. More than 100 countries have been invited, and over two lakh participants have registered online, underscoring the summit’s broad international engagement and significance in shaping the future of responsible and inclusive AI development
